Default 270 wsm powder/dies

I have decided to start reloading for my .270wsm. I have a friend that has all of the equipment....... But I'll need dies and some suggestions on loads/powders that any of you have had good results with??Are there specific wsm powders that work well with this caliber?? I am looking at shooting the BarnesTSX or the Accubond with the highest grn avail.

Thanks
Bill

I have had excellent accuracy shooting the 140 gr Accubond (last i looked was the only 270 weight available) sitting on top of 58.5 gr of I4350, Federal lrm primers ww cases.

Thanks,thndrchiken......good info......I've always shot fact. ammo and have never had a problem with finding a factory load (30.06/.300wsm)that didn't shoot very well. But as the case was today..... I picked up a box of Winchester 140grn. AccuBonds(good bullet)that took 47.95 out of my pocket. That's a set of dies. So anyway thanks .........I'll make note.

Any suggestions on dies??

Bill

Personally I'm kinda partial to Redding dies, but if your on a budget Lee works just as well, just not as polished on the cosmetic end. Shell holder will depend on which press you have. They all basically do the same thing. I have also had excellent accuracy with the 140 gr Hornady SST's, shoot to the same point of impact as the Accubond.

I use RCBS dies, and they should be around $30 for the set.

I've been loading 130gr Nosler BTs for my 270WSM, but will be loading some 140gr BTs and some AccuBonds up as well. I'm using IMR 4350, pushed to max load, WLRM primers, Winchester Brass.

I noticed that the seating depth is very finicky on the short mags and the super short mags when I started load development, took me a lil while to find the "sweet spot".

Roger on the sweet spot. We may have to revisit that note.

Midway has dies (and other goodies)on sale.

Thanks
