RE: Primers

Federals are the softest primer. If you are having problems with a semi-auto or weak firing pin try Federals.

seems like a lot of you are pretty down on CCI, I have used CCI exclusively because it was more readily obtainable. I loadfor 9mm, .38, .303 and my .444 Marlin...maybe I have just been lucky, butonly hadthree misfires out of approx. 10,000 rounds.

I see a lot that it seems like Federal and Winchester are the two preferred primer companies by many reloaders. Are they that much better than Remington and CCI as far as accuracy?
No, they are not!! I have worked up many of my nmost accurate loads with Federal primers, and will buy them if I can find them. But I have had some good results with CCI and Remington primers, as well.

Many years ago, there was a shotgun component company named Sullivan Arms Company, and for awhile they sold rifle primers too. I had some extremely accurate ammo using them as well!
