The 7600 in 35 Whelen is a great combination. I think that would be my grizzly combo with the 310 grain weldcore bullets.

You are definately selling its rangea bit short at 200 yards since it has a point blank range of about 275 yards with 200-225 grain bullets. Not too shabby for a brush gun.

I have to second that the range mentioned is short. With factory 200gr bullets it is a solid 300yards deer round. And with 225gr partitions and better yet accubonds it will handle 300 yards as well for caribou/elk/moose. Its is a great round round forelk/moose/ and all bears with the 250gr bullets and again with their bigger vitals its a 300 yard cartridge or at least 250 yards if you sight infor 200 yards. Its at its best under 200 yards but those heavy bulletsmaintain their speed better than the light small bores do! And the if you could hit something at 400 yards (please don't try) they would still have the power to drop a moose right there.

My old man has one in a Model 700 that is a tack driver. He handloads 180gr. bullets in it for whitetails.

With a .225 Grain Speer TBBC, the .35 Whelen would be superb for any game in NA. It's truly a classic cartridge.
