Default Vibratory tumblers

Can anyone give me a little insight to which brand of tumbler seems to work the best, type of media used, and how long it actually takes to clean a batch of brass?? Thanks!!

If your just looking for something economical try a midway 1292 model .I have two of them and never a problem .Some people like corn cob and some like walnutshell media ,myself I buy a 25 lb bag of ground corncob from the pet store that they use in bird cages.I used to clean 5 or 6 thousand rounds aweek as part of my business . just about any good brass polish will work . The amount of time depends on how dirty the brass was when you start ,but around a hour or better . Hope this help some.

I've used rouged walnut shell media for cleaning followed by corncob for polishing. Might be more trouble than other methods but it worked for me and gave me nice bright cases.

ROSSMAN,
It depends on how many cases you usually clean at a time. The two best cleaners I know of are the Dillon 500 and the 2000. If your like most reloaders the #500 will handle the job for you. If your like me and clean 500-600 .223 cases at a time then the 2000 would be the one for you. If I'm doing a lot of cases at one time the I use a Dillon media seperater. If I'm only doing 50 cases or so, I've found a kitty litter scoop works just fine. If you want the Dillon Bluepress, their number is 800-762-3845. All of the Dillon products are covered by a lifetime "No B.S. Warranty".

BigBob: Thanks! I won't really need too big of capacity one, I'll likely only be cleaning 50-100 rifle cases at a time, maybe a couple hundred revolver (454 Casull)cases. Thanks again for the information. I'll check out the Dillon 500.

You all can believe this or not, but I built my own vibratory case cleaner from scratch, and it works like a champ!! An old bundt cake pan, some auto brake springs, a refrigerator fan motor and some plywood.

My wife says it looks like Fred Flintstone built it, but , like I said, IT WORKS!

Total cost-less than $25.00.
