I shoot a 200 grain Nosler Partition (semi round nose)and a 200 grain Sierra boattail from my 300 win mag with the 7828 powder. It has been a very accurate load for me.
I shoot 72.6 grains with a CCI #250 primer.
I am using a Tikka Lite...

Noslerlists IMR 7828-77gr with a 180 gr AccuBond will shoot 3048fps but theylist themost accuate load with IMR 7828 being 73.0 gr at only 2878 fps. They alsolist the best load for the RL22 being the hottest load at 75.5gr at 3118fps. Sounds like I might have to run some RL22 through it. Thanks BC. You too sabotloader.

I have not used IMR 7828 in any of the .30's. But I find it to be excellent in the 7mm Remington Magnum, for which I understand it was specifically developed. It is slower than RE22, so if you have to use a compressed load of RE22 in the .300 Win. Mag. to get opimum performance, it is just possible that the case won't hold enough IMR 7828 to do the job. It might be outstanding in the .300 Weatherby for heavy bullets, however!
