Hello and i hope you can help me with a problem, I recently ran out of 760 and have had a hard time finding it. So i was hoping someone might know of a place to find some or if not made some replacement. Been reloading 270, ' 06,308. Thanks again

You can mail order it for a hazardous fee at www.grafs.com www.powdervalleyinc.com www.wideners.com www.lockstock.com www.precisionreloading.com . Good luck.

Seems like I read somewhere that 760 had been discontinued. Or am I thinking of another powder? Could be. Scour the powder websites and manuals. Call them if necessary. Tell them what you want.

It' s magic! All of a sudden PRESTO! That $20 can of powder is a $40 can of powder. Federal regs $20 hazard fee per can. Personally I' ll just find a new powder. I can' t afford a can of powder at $40/lb.

If you cant find any 760 you might give H-414 a try. Its so close to the same in two of my rifles I wonder if it isnt the same powder sold under two different numbers. There does seem to be quite a bit of difference in these two numbers from lot to lot though. Dont just go out and load up the same charge if you switch. Start low and use some common sense about it. Good luck.

I' m of the understanding that Win 760 is the exact same powder as H-414....made in the same plant, made the same way....is exactly the same powder.....but you didn' t hear it from me!!!!
If you switch to H-414, use H-414 data.....and check back.....it' s always within a very small % of the data with Win 760!!!

In most medium calibers (ie., .308, .277, .284" ), H414 is almost exactly the same as WW760. IMR 4350 also performs almost identically, except in the smaller cases like the .308 Win., you can' t get as much in the case as you' d need for max. loads with bullets like the 150 and 165-grainers.

Elksniper,
I switched from Winchester powders the third time they deleted the powders that I was using in favor of a new powder. I find more stability with the Hodgdon brand and a better range of powders to boot!
I guess I just got tired of the powder company telling me when I had to work up a new load.
