Who likes RL19 in the .243 Winchester?
Specifically with 100 grain bullets?
My daughter will be hunting mule deer for the first time this year (12 years old) and I am putting a load together for our .243 Winchester using 100 grain Hornady BTSP bullets. I have serveral suitable powders on hand, but I was given a lb of RL19 in a horse trade and I don't have any other use for it at the present time. Thought I might give it a try instead of using up stashes of my powders preferred in other cartridges (IMR 4831, IMR 4350, H1000, RL22 and IMR 7828).
Thanks.

I'm not sure how RL-19 would perform in the .243. This powder wasn't out yet when I loaded for one. My favorite load was 40.5 gr of IMR4350 over a Hornady 100 gr bullet. This load shot extremely well out of my old Savage 110.
I am getting good results with RL-19 out of my 325 WSM with both 180 and 200 gr bullets.

I've never personally used RL19 out of my 243, but I did load some for a buddy and he said they shot real nice (95gr CT BT). My favorite load for deer is a 95gr Combined Technology BT with a max load of RL22 and WLR primers in Remington brass. That load shoots very well out of my Tikka and Remington 243.

RL-19 is all I use in my 243 Win's or 6MM Rem's . I load the 85 gr TSX Barnes bullets for deer and a 75gr x bullet for varmints . Accuracy is excellent in all the guns .

i have loaded rl-19 for my 243 it shot ok but i ended up going with rl-22 because i was getting better groups i'm shooting 95 nosler bt with 47.5gr of rl-22 but that might be a little to hot for your daughter right now.

With breaking in the barrel on a Cooper M22 in 243 Win. I tried a load using R 19 with a 70 gr Ballistic Tip.
I know one group isnt enough to go by but this 5 shot, 100 yard group shows promise. The other 2 powders I tried didnt do as well.
I only have 15 rounds through this rifle and will try tweaking this load a bit and see what happens.
