redding die ?

Default redding die ?

need instruction on setting the die in the press. after you touch the press at full stroke how much do you back it off? thanks for any information .

If this is a neck die and you are shooting brass already fired in your gun (which you should be); then you can neck size the entire neck if you wish - or you could leave a little of neck unsized to help align the case. You should neck size at least 2/3 of the neck for proper tension - but its up to you. And after a couple of firings of neck sized only cases, you are going to have to run the case through a full length die or a body die to bump the shoulder back a little as the cases will begin to chamber with a little effort.

Screw the die in until it touches the shellholder then back out 1/2 turn.

thanks for the replies. loaded 22 rounds and shot some to see how they shot.i was loading 223 remington with blue dot, they shot well .

Why are you using a pistol powder to load rifle shells?

thndrchicken i use this powder fora close range varmit calling gun at night. loaded to get hornet velicity in the 223 remington. it shoots well.
