Calhoon DBL HP and .223
Got some of these bullets from a friend. Gonna see how they shoot with my current load that I use with HDY SPSX's in 50 gr. The Calhoon bullets are also 50 gr. I think I am at or very close to minimum charge, with IMR 4895. Will see how they do. My friend likes them and says they do a number on jack rabbits. Will see how they compare to the SPSX's. They are definatley an interesting bullet. Brass jacket, with silver plating. Hollow point like what a NBT should be, but no plastic tip, so another hollow point, where the plastic tip should be. Will report back...
BTW - shot another jack rabbit the other day with the SPSX's, they sure do a number on the jacks also, lol.
Cost on the Calhoons is right at 11.5 cents per bullet, plus some shipping, which shouldn't bump the per bullet cost up with a good sized order.
Later,
Marcial

I also use the Hornady SX bullets and have tried a few of the Calhoun bullets.
I am happy with the Calhouns but for me it is easier to buy the Hornady bullets off my local dealer's shelf than ordering the Calhoun bullets
