Default 6.5 Rem mag

JUST THINKING. SO FAR. Who loads for one of these and where can you get new brass? I checked Midway and Cabelas with no luck.

What case is the 6.5 Rem Mag based on? The 7mm Mag or something?

I would just assume shoot the 65.x55 Swede, doesn't kick as hard, less muzzle blast, and easier to find components for.

Here some at Grafs and Sons. They have free shipping on orders over 20$

http://www.grafs.com/metallic/698

You may want to check out their other prices on stuff with the free shipping they are hard to beat on most of the brass/bullets reloading stuff.

Great prices on Encore barrels also.

I used to love Midwayusa back when they had the same deal, now with shipping their prices are just so-so compared to shops where Im at.

I came across a web site that has it listed but not sure if they have any in stock. The only thing it’s on this side of the border. Not sure if you would be able to purchase them. www.ellwoodepps.com

Say Chantecler111, just got to ask. What’s with all the double posting? You do know that you can edit your post unless it’s just a numbers thing...

Trailor. The 6.5 Rem Mag was created by necking down the 350 Rem Mag. Both came out in the 600 Series Remington rifles quite a few years back. They are now being chambered in the 673 Remington rifle.(I think thats the right model No.) It weak point is a short neck that requires robbing powder space for bullets over 120 grains. The 260 will generate about as much velocity as the 6.5Rem Mag, As will the 6.5x55. The 6.5-06 would outdo it. Every road I start down with the 264 seems to end up at the 6.5-06.

Thanks for the tips on brass. I keep forgetting about Graf and Son.

I bought my oldest son the 6.5 Rem. Mag. last year . I handload this round with 125 Gr. Nosler Partition bullets at 3165 fps from a Rem 673 Guide gun.He has taken 6 deer so far with this gun all one shot kills, the longest was 414 yards, range finder distance on a power line in S.C. Recoil is not bad at all. I buy Brass from Midway. If I did not have a 6.5 Swed. I would have one my self,I already have a 350 Rem. mag. which is the parent case,I hope that info helped you.
