I just purchased some Hornday 165gr Interbond bullets and am looking at different load data. I'm looking at IMR 4350 and 4831. I've use 4831 for years with lots of success. My question is this. The Hornady manual shows a much lower maximul load than does any of my Nostler manual for the 165gr Ballistic Tip. I think there's 3 or so grains different. I don't have the manuals in front of me so I'm not sure of the exact measurements. Can someone explain this for me?
Thanks

You will find similar inconsistencies throughout the loading data world. Nosler's particular pressure test barrelmight show53K with a165 Ballistic tipand a certain charge of IMR 4831, from a certain lot, with aFederal primer and a Remington case. Hornady's test barrel might read 57K with the exact same load. And Hornady might elect to use different components - besides the bullet, of course. You have to start out with a very conservative load and work up a little at a time, checking accuracy as you go, and carefully evaluating signs of pressure. It sounds to me like you are looking for a max load shortcut. Ill advised.
