I've just used up my first pound of pouder(IMR4350)
I"m thinking about trying something else...
I'm reloading for a 300 Win Mag and 300 WSM, so I need something that will shoot decent in both rifle...
Or should I have two different powders for these two different calibers???

You might try RL22. But might not be ideal for WSM. I suggest H4831sc or IMR7828. Either one should be good.
I tell ya what, I got some RL22, and I don't use it anymore. Your welcome to buy it for a song. I am up here in Westminster. Really H4831sc would be the most ideal choice.
But this is reloading, you never know until you try.

Had good results with IMR7828 in both 300's with 180-200gr bullets. However I mayopt for the IMR7828SSCwith thewsm as it will allow you a little more case room. The H4831SC would also be a good one to try.
Personally I like RL22 but not sure how it will perform in the short mag, I know it works well in the 7mm rem mag and 300wm though.

Mr Longbeard,
For sure two different powders. Each gun will like a different powder. That is what makes reloading so wonderful. Tune each rifle to it's best potential.
300 Win Mag RL 22.
Not sure about the wsm

Just let me know when you want too. I got close to 18 different types of powder, and you know how it goes, you end up not using one or going with another. So surely we can find something.
I got a 2lbs of retumbo I need to figure out what to do with too. I tried out Retumbo, RL25, RL22, H1000, IMR7828, and 4831sc and ended up selling the RUM's. All I got left that needs powder that slow is STW and I like 7828 the best for that.

big country beat me to it. I second all the powders he suggested. IMR 4350 is just a tad on the fast side for rounds with the capacity of the larger .30 magnums.....

Guys, if you read my other post on 300 WM load. I was using IMR4350 (72 gr) with 180 bullets with decent accuracy. I worked up a load using 60.5 gr of IMR4064 with excellent results using 180 gr Nosler Accubonds.
Three of the four 5 shot groups hovered right around 1" with one of these under .900" (and that was with a bullet out of the group by .250").
I also had good accuracy with this powder using 165 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips. Rifle is a Ruger 77 MKII.
Would like to post pic of this group but every time I try to post, I get a message that pic is too big. If someone can help me on this I'd appreciate it. Send me an email.
