Default Replacement triggers

I have a Rem XCR and want to put a different trigger on it... I'm looking for something that does not require a gunsmith

Was looking at the Timney and the Rifle basix trigger...

How hard are they to put on???

And wich one is the best for a hunting rifle???

Are the newer remington triggers adjustable? For a hunting rifle the adjustable factory triggers work well when properly adjusted. Mine are 3-3-1/2lbs with no creep or overtravel.

For a hunting rifle, I would simply adjust the factory trigger. I bought a book at Barnes and Noble that told me how to do mine. Cost about $15 to $20, and was a pretty simple.

i got a timney from midway. it wasn't too much $$, under a 100 bucks for sure & its awesome. Its much better than the factory, & was not hard to put in. I did break the safety snap washer putting everything back in, but I was able to get a replacement from Gander Mountain's gunsmithing shop.

Personally, I think the Timney is a vast improvement over the factory Remington trigger and they're not too difficult to install. I have no experience with the Rifle Basix trigger, so I can't comment on it.

Thanks for the info... I may just take it to my gun smith for 20 bucks and have him do it...

I tryed the web sight provided to try and adjust it my self... I got the trigger down to about 2.5-3.0 but the creep seemed a little much

I install Timney's on all of my hunting rifles. Takes a couple of minutes. Mine was the sportsman, for under $50CAN. You may need a Dremel to open the slot in the stock. I replaced my first trigger when I was 19YO, afterI glass-bed my first rifle w/out glueing the action to the stock.
