Nickel ammo has the cartridge nickel plated and the shooting brass is in it’s raw finish. You can also get cartridges in the nickel finish for reloading. The maine reason as far as I can see to get nickel finish is so the cartridge doesn't tarnish and looks cleaner...

Chambers easier is a relative term. Are you full length resizing or only neck sizing? A full length resized brass case will chamber easier than a neck sized nickle case which has been fired 3 or 4 times. I typically use nickle cases to assist in seperating cases for different guns, such as my multiple .223s.

I would think the nickel plated ammo would chamber easier because of the harder surface from the plating...

Ought Six:

A nickle plated full sized or neck sized case will chamber easer than a brass full sized or neck sized case. Good luck.

You'll be hard pressed to tell the nickle from the brass when chambering. Most people who use nickle do so because they look better. I don't like them because they are more brittle than brass and start neck splitting sooner than brass. It just doesn't last as many loadings.
