Anyone here have any experience with a load and ballistics for this bullet?

I had pretty good luck with IMR 4350, although my gun shoots the 95 gr. Partition a little better. Terminal performance was about the same. Lots of penetration at the expense of a little smaller wound channel than conventional soft points, like the Sierra 100 gr. Prohunter.

is a good site for load data, always crosscheck the data with at least one other source to avoid printing errors.
assuming a muzzle velocity of 2800 fps a 100 grian nosler partition in .243 diameter sighted in 3 inches high at 100 yards

the bullet will impact 3.5 inches high at 150 yards, 2.5 at 200 yards, dead on a 250, 4.5 inches low a 300 yards, and 10 inches low at 300 yards.

Great! I actually thought of using the 95 grian instead to help MV. Any experience with those?

The 243 has more than enough velocity with the 100 grain bullet. You are on the right track with the 100 grain Nosler Partition.. IMR 4350 should work well. Sierra and Hornady call for 42.0 grains for 2900 fps.

Sweet! I might roll with that recipie. Do you think the MV would be affected noticeably by using a 95 grain instead? WOuld it stabilize better?

I have generally gotten the 95 grainers to shoot a little better out of true 10" twist barrels. All the new Remingtons have 9.2" twists, so they may shoot the 100 gr. bullet bettter. You'll probably just have to try them and see. The difference in velocity or terminal performance will be minimal.

Another bullet definitely worth trying is the 100 gr. Sierra Pro Hunter (flat base design). One of the all-around-does-just-about-everything-well kind of bullets in this caliber. Has also proven to be accurate in just about every rifle of this caliber I have tried.

I really like the Pro-Hunter bullets as well. I use the 120 grain in the smaller 7MM and have had great performamce from them. I didn't try them in the 243 though.

I presonally Shoot 100gr. Sierra Pro Hunter with 42gr of RL 22 out of remington vls.shoots great 3/4 inches 100yds. I found a website offers bullet test load packs. www.bulletdudes.com

So do these pro-hunter bullets hold together pretty well? Are they a Locked bullet or bonded?
