Default Difference between 45ACP+P and regular

Thinking of loading for my 45ACP. I notice the regular load data is 17.3KCUP. But I see this +P ammo around. Does anyone know what CUP that that is?

Thinking of HS-6, or HP-38 as I have these powders for 40SW and 9mm. But Longshot seems to really shine with a 230gr bullet.

Wow, I notice alliant has a power pistol load up to almost 23KPSI for +P data. Wonder if my 1995 Colt Model IV is rated for it.

This probably does not address your question totally, but when I was doing my searching for a quality 45 auto load I ended up here..

http://www.realguns.com/loads/45auto.htm

I ended up with the Speer 185 grain gold dot with pistol power powder. It really does shooet well from my Springfield.

Nice load. Thanks. I was reading a few places. And they say any modern semi handles the +P loads.

I have also shot the 185 Speer Gold Dot bullet at plus P levels for years. A stout load of AA#5 propells this bullet to 1125 fps. This is one of the highest performing .45 ACP loads out there - four consecutive DRT kills on coyotes, as well as other critters up to 150 pounds.

That is good information to know, thanks. I have given up hunting with centerfire rifles and do all my hunting with ML's now - old age I guess... but anyway I now also carry the 45 as a back-up as the State of idaho has embraced the idea of bringing back the wolf population + on the occasion you might get between a sow and her cub - hope none of these situations ever happen but... I know there are better pistols out there but I am lousy at shooting a pistol and the 45 auto feels good for me.
