Default The best 270 bullet for whitetail??

I'm fixin' to start reloading 270's for whitetail. I was just wondering what y'all's favorite bullet type/brand and weight was for deer sized animal.

Just in case you're wondering, I have a T/C Encore in the 270 Win with a Leuopold 4-12 on it.

Thanks!!

I have shot 130gr BT's, 130gr gamekings, and 130gr coreloks, 150gr coreloks and have shot deer with all. I have had the most reliable kills with 130gr gamekings and 150gr coreloks. But the core's never were that accurate for me. So my vote goes to the 130gr gamekings.

For deer sized game I've had good luck with 130 gr. Sierra Pro-Hunter. I've also used the 130 gr. Nosler B-Tip with good results. I prefer the Sierra as it holds together better and causes less meat damage.

The 130 grn BT's have always worked perfect for me. I use them in my 270Win and 270WSM. I dont worry to much about them tearing up more meat then some bullets since I dont eat much meat out of the rib cage area anyway.

Along with the 130 Gamekings and the 130 Ballistic Tips, the Hornady SST's are also a good killer of deer.

Just about any 130 gr bullet out of the 270 will work well for whitetails. Hornady, Sierra, Speer, Nosler. I like the Nosler ballistic tips.

Im with bronko22000 in the camp of nearly any 130 grain bullet. It doesnt make a tone of difference on the kill, more of what I would be concerned with would be the accureacy of the bullet in your particular gun. 130's rock in the 270! EJ

Really darn near anything 130-150 gr will workJFL on deer out of 270. My preference for deer sized game is still the NBT, I have harvested a number of deer/antelope with 130gr .277 NBT.

The best bullet is the one that prints/meets your hunting situationthe best. Next component is experience with successful harvests under your belt with a certain combo it breeds confidence.
