Default favorite .270 poweder

I amthinking about IMR4831, Alliant reloader 22, andHodgden 4831. In the .270 with 140 gr bullets what is your favorite powder.

I have a couple of old cans of IMR4831 to use up. But then I am going to give RL22 a try. Thanks

I never could get the 4831 to group well when I had good vel.

I have never had a proble with RL22. Good droups and good vel. But then again I use Horn. bullets and again have never had a problem.

It works for me and me mod 70.

If you have a longer (24") barrel, RL 22 can really get a .270 bullet moving. For the 22" tubes,I would stick with IMR 4350 or IMR 4831.

Although I have tried others, I have returned to thetwo I started with, when I got my first .270 in 1958--IMR 4350, and H4831.

Nosler Ballistic tip 130 gr - with 55 gr of IMR4350. A real shooter out of my Rem 700. And terrific on whitetails and mulies.

Can't beat IMR4350 or 4831.

I use 55gr IMR4350 and 130gr gameking in one gun and 46gr of IMR4064 in another one with same bullet. The IMR4064 load only kicks out about 2850fps, but my buddy loves its as it produces sub .5 MOA accuracy.

I use the 4350 load in my 7400 and get almost 3000fps and 1.5MOA and cycles perfect.
