need load help for 300 WBY 180 gr. Barnes TSX and 4350 powder
All,
I am starting some loads using the Barnes 180 gr. TSX and 4350 powder for my 300 WBY. As the data is somewhat scarce, any and all loads that you guys may have with these components as a starting point is greatly appreciated.

If you want to achieve max velocity out of the 300 WBY you need to buy some RL22, H1000, or RL25. Any of the 4350's burn at too fast a rate for the 300 Wby. I'm not saying you can't use it you will just have better results with a slower burning powder in a case the size of the Wby.

IMR7828,H-1000 and R-22 have worked best in the rifles that I have loaded for.Either 4350 is too fast for thebest velocities.

I shoot 180 gr nosler partitions in my 300 weatherby but using the barnes is no different, you can use the following 180 n part--federal gm215m primers---80 gr h4831 gives me 3005 on the chrony.

All,
Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, I have a "sweet spot" for IMR 4350 (as in I have 8 more cans of the same lot left!), so I am somewhat "stuck" with it. As far as the type of 4350, it is IMR. I am currently without a chrony and was trying to get a feel for loads while I prep'ed my bras.

I agree completely - but sometimes IMR 4350 can give great groups in .300 Win/.300 Wby, and only comes in a hundred fps or behind the slower powders. The same scenario sometimes exists with the 7MM Rem Mag.- particularly with the shorter (24") barrels.
