i thought the 120 grain bullet might give a little less recoil. i was alsowondering why the 25-06 had 120 grain bullets. seems to be a small difference in the 277 cal 25 cal . for years i have loaded 150 grain bullets for the 270 to hunt both mule deer an whitetail. just did not know why the 270 did not have a 120 grain bullet as it has 90 grain and 110 grain .thanks for your comments.

I know that Remington is loading a 115 grain bullet in their managed recoil loads and for the 6.8 spc. I guess they aren't offering it as a reloading component. May want to contact them and see if it will be available as a component in the future.

I'm pretty sure Barnes makes a 120 gr. X bullet in the .270 caliber.

Yes, they do....... I've used the Nosler 120-grain SBBT bullet in the 7X57mm at 3100 FPS for the smallish whitetail deer in central TX, and found it to be way too destructive if it hits any edible portion. Jackrabbits, OK! Deer, NOT OK!

Barnes did make the 120 grain bullet in .277 but have discontinued them.
It seems that you can still order them direct from Barnes for a little while longer though.
It seems they are discontinuing a large number of the regular X bullets.
