I just picked up some 139Grn Initerlocks to reload for my 7MM-08.
Anyone got any field experience with these? How are they accuracy wise & how do they perform on Whitetail?
What's the best powder to use with them? I've got some IMR4064 and some Varget.
Thanks

Firstshot never shot the 139 grainers ,but I can say over the last 35 years plus, I use the 165 grainer Hornady interlock SP bullet in the 06 springfield and never lost a witetail to that bullet or matter in fact never had a deer go more then 25 yards one the bullet is placed in the chest area.

I have seen these used in a 7 Rem Mag - they are one of the better all around conventional bullets - if your rifle will group well with them. They are tough enough for game as big as elk and zebra, and still expand fast enough for whitetails. The 7MM-08 isn't that much slower than the 7 Mag, so I'd expect the results to be very similar.

They are not much different from a core lokt asfar as design goes they are based on the same principle for a controlled expansion type bullet. being a hornady product they should have a higher quality tolerance then core lokts though and im sure they do.

I had a little different experience going from the regular Interlock to the SST in the .270 AI. The SST's seem more explosive and give less penetration. They are not up to the task of taking elk, at least at these velocities. Regular 130 Interlocks are a little soft for big bones, but have worked well on rib shots. The SST's are coming apart worse than Nosler Ballistic Tips.
