Part of the problem with dominating the UN is the security council, the senior members can veto just about anything. so a single country can't dominate anything, its designed that way. Problem is that when one or more of these members don't have "world" interests in mind, it backfires.

Also, the UN is technically NOT in the US, its on international ground, we can't kick them out.

We need to rearrange the council, plain and simple. We've come a loooooong way from 1945, and the major players of yesteryear are not so today. If they don't like it, well then they need to reassert their power (by actually making themselves useful in the international scene, and God forbid, even going into battle once in a while when needed). We'll be up against a brick wall for sure, but this idea needs to be explored further.

The UN is eerily similar to the Hapsburg Monarchy in Austria. They too eventually found the end of the rope.

He he.

MICHAEL DAY DID, but much to my horror, instead of being lauded as a true american patriot with cajones, even the people on this board said that he was essentially a traitor.

I will go to Conroe Texas before I die, take him out for a good meal, a good drunk and give him some money to help overturn his dishonorable discharge.

I think they're goose is cooked and the best thing is, they're slow-cooking it themselves. I have a feeling we're going to hear an awful lot more on the scandal with the Oil-for-Food program in this new year and who knows what else. Just recently Kofi- koffee - however you spell that fools first name -- was recently sucking up to the President and that isn't something he'd attempt to do if he didn't know he was in serious doo-doo!

I really hope I live to see their demise!

His heart is good, but an order is an order. Soldiers can't choose whom they serve under. If he wanted to protest an illegal order, he went about it the wrong way. If his chain of command wasn't taking the matter seriously, the least he could've done is get in touch with his senator.
