Democrats Going WAY Left with Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal

The new Congress has not even been sworn in yet, and already there are signs that the new class of progressive Democrats are going to pull the party into a hard-left, climate-focused, socialism-bending direction that could spell electoral disaster in 2020. Following the lead of Sen. Bernie Sanders (who is, of course, not even a Democrat) and newbie Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, more than 40 Democrats have thrown their support towards the so-called “Green New Deal,” which would guarantee a job to every American who wants to work in the clean energy field, among other expensive propositions.

To tame (and nurture) the hard-leftists rising in the ranks, incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is expected to revive a panel on climate change, though it’s unlikely that anything that committee comes up with, legislatively, will pass the Senate. Still, it will give Americans a very good taste of what they can expect from this party as long as voters continue to choose insurgent progressives like Ocasio-Cortez over veteran moderates. This is Sanders-ism on the rise, and if any of it were to actually get a president’s signature, it could spell financial catastrophe for the United States.

“This is going to be the New Deal, the Great Society, the moon shot, the civil-rights movement of our generation,” Ocasio-Cortez said earlier this month.
Unfortunately, putting the U.S. on a government-forced plan to go completely carbon-neutral within ten years would cost the economy (and taxpayers) trillions of dollars while doing absolutely nothing to limit the carbon-emissions from other, far dirtier (in terms of fossil fuel use) countries like China. Thus, we are looking at a program that would put our economy at a stark disadvantage in terms of global competition…for what? Just so we can stand up at the UN and pat ourselves on the back for a job well done? China and other rising industrial states will have to hold back their chuckles as the U.S. slides deeper into a socialist experiment that has failed every time it has been tried.

Much was made of the fact that President Trump pulled the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Agreement, but few of the analysts bothered to note that no other leading country in the world has our record when it comes to reducing the carbon output. From 2005 to 2017, our country reduced emissions by 14%, which puts every other country in the G-20 to shame. This was done without heavy-handed government interference. It was done without putting legislative shackles on the economy. Obama tried to handcuff power plants with regulatory rules, but those were fortunately frozen in place by the courts. Point is: We’re doing just fine when it comes to addressing climate change, and we’re doing it with the help of the free market – NOT big government.

Democrats always have to push back against the perception that they’re going to get into office and start hiking taxes wherever they see them. If they go out on the campaign trail in 2020 and flaunt this ridiculous expansion of government as their number one issue, we will see – perhaps once and for all – just how much Americans buy into this climate change hysteria. When “fighting” climate change means saying goodbye to a big portion of your paycheck, the rubber hits the road pretty quickly.

Yep! We aren't going to hear any of this on the six o'clock, fake news channels! The Paris Climate Agreement was just one of obozo's and the U.N.'s deals to tie BOTH HANDS of America behind our backs!
America pays the carbon bill, other countries get free passes to keep polluting, thus handicapping American industries!
Just one more reason foreign products are cheaper than ours!
Gee, it makes you wonder how American workers can still vote DUMMYCRAP!
