Very nice area, big lakes with decent fishing for trout, ling cod, great wine, fruit and golf courses. Game I am sure are around but in travelling the area with work I rarely see much in the way of big game, unlike the kootney area's (Cranbrook, Invermere, Golden, etc). Cost of living is substantial though, housing in Kelowna/Penticton is through the roof, gas this week was almost a buck/L, food at restruants is higher than Clagary, etc. Not sure about work I guess depends on what experience you have but with the housing booming one would assume the reason it is being driven up is economic...although a heavy retirement area so that will be a direct result in costs. Crime is actually higher than one thinks due to the moderate temperature it is resident to transits but I doubt much more than many areas in canada. People in the interior of BC are excellent though, I haven't met to many that weren't extremely nice and pleasant.
If I were moving for very pleasant living these areas would be a great choice, however for hunting opps this area wouldn't be my first choice! Either the Kootneys or northern offer more in way for the sportsman.
