Sorry my message must have confused all of you. The $800 is a deposit locking in 2005 pricing for 8 guys one camp, camp cook and guide. Total cost is $3995....which is cheap most of them now are in the $4500-$5500 range depending on the outfitter. Safari Nordik has been in businss a long time and they are the ONLY outfitter that guarantees you a trophy bull or trip is FREE. You get to Montreal then fly in from there.

Most of these fly-in trips have gone through the roof in pricing because of the value of the USD vs. CDN dollar. This is the best deal I have found.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

Thanks.

mullis56,
You should also check out www.explosylva.com they have been in business a long time. also check your dates to see if the fishing is still open. Not sure if thats your thing or not but we caught arctic char (2-4lbs) and speckled trout ( 1-4lbs) almost every cast in some pools. I highly recommend these flyin hunts. Lots more money than a drive in winter one but a totally different experience worth every penny. One morning I found a black bear skeleton that had been killed by wolves and that bear was over 6ft long. Also I found the skeleton of a lake trout on the shore of the George river and I figure it would have weighed over 30 lbs. The head on it was scary huge!!

Not going this year but plan on trying to book a hunt for 2006 at Mirage next week if they will book one that far in advance.

Does anyone know if you have to pay to take your own snowmobile across customs?

I don't see why. Its just another motorized vehicle. The better question might be do you need insurance to operate it in Quebec ?

We took one across this past season and it was not an issue.
The only thing they asked about were alcohol, tobacco and weapons

We always brought one but I hunted with residents of Quebec and my snowmobile insurance covers me in Quebec. Check with your insurance provider to see if it covers you in Canada. I see lots of Americans snowmobiling up here ( Ontario) everytime I'm out so I would think the insurance carries over the border.
