For all of you who have given in and registered your guns I have a comment. You are the weakest link, GOOD BY! You are helping the feds and making them think that the are right and they have won.

For all of you who have not registered and will wait till the last moment (if at all), keep the faith and hold out.

lazyarcher; it would be difficult for the liberals to ignore 1-2 million gun owners who became criminals because of their laws. Letters to mp's won't work in this case. The liberals would lose the next election if they rescinded the law. The only way to get it changed is to vote them out of power.

lazyarcher; I agree that for the most part people have registered. But; there are a large number (especially out west) that haven't. I believe that a party could rescind the law. It may be backing off to just requiring an FAC again. The true magnitude of the mess that exists won't be seen until after the final regristration due date. Then the government has to decide whether they want to force the guns that weren't registered onto the black market or give an amnesty.

I have had every FAC etc... from the begining, but there are millions who did not apply for their permit. If they apply now, there is a section that asks what you have, and they can't answer that in the affirmative, when they don't have the license for which they are applying. They can't get their guns registered in the future, because they don't have the permit, and they can't get the permit because they have guns. If they acquired their guns under an FAC, then I am here to tell you that the police copied down the FAC numbers from the store where i worked, so they are in the system already.

As I read the law the only thing these folks can do is incapacitate their guns so that if someone comes looking they have all been destroyed.

Or they can sell the guns to those who don't care if they're registered or not. That would tend to be the criminal element. But what are they going to do with a million or more guns that won't be registered?
