Really love those surplus tags! With all the different guys I hunt with, I think we have right around 8 or 9 surplus doe tags this year. If we fill half of them were doing our part
!
Actually with this group,, Ill be surprised if we have any leftover. There are 4 guys out right now trying to fill tags. Im heading to my stand at 3 pm,,, this work stuff is interfering with my deer hunting![:-]

I left on the first for a long drive south and east to the prairie where I had a doe antelope tag. By 9:15 am on the second, I was heading back home with a doe in the truck. I wanted to spend some time out there and fish a little and maybe shoot some birds. But it is very warm and I had to get some of the finest eating wild game I know of back home and into the freezer.

Got out the afternoons of the 1st and 2nd.
Deer spotted-6, 2 doe/3 fawn/1buck
turkeys 40+
coyotes 2
No doe' s close enough and wasnt going to burn my buck tag on a 4 point the first day of the season. Took a coyote on the second afternoon,, lots of coyotes and unbelievable #' s of turkeys....
Ohhh I hope the corn starts coming down soon!

The first of Nov. is on the horizon (next SAt.) and that means another " opening day" in much of Alberta.
My son and I have mule deer doe draws and he has a buck draw in one zone s.w. of home. It will be open for our white-tail general tags and the supplemental wh-tail doe tags too. I don' t see how we can possibly come home without venison. However my wife has a draw bull moose permit for a diffrent zone n.w. of home and she may want me to go with her there for opening day. One way or another I can garuntee I will not be doing yard work Nov. 1.
