Default '08 Ontario Black Bear Hunt

Hello All,

I am looking at setting up an '08 hunt for Black Bear. I was just fishing in July at Lunge Lodge on the French River. I saw a huge Black Bear (Guessing at 300#, the owner of the resort thinks he is closer to 350#). The lodge just started bear hunting a few years ago and my concern is finding someone maybe alot more established. Years ago I spoke to Rick Dickinson in WaWa. Any comments from folks would be well appreciated.

Thanks
Jake

He has been doing it a long time and takes alot of hunters. He should be able to give a good hunt. We also due bear hunts in NW Ontario and take approx 10 hunters a year for the past 10 years. The thing you want to find out is if the outfitterhas good suuccesss and your personalities match. That can make the hunt much more enjoyable. Due a search for Gateway North Outfitters and look at the hunts. It is also good to look a few places and get an idea of what is out there first. If you have any questions about anything, email me and I would be happy to help. [email protected]

Hey Jake
My son and I hunt Quebec every year at (Richer Lodge.819-449-1613)We always kill at least one bear and sometimes we both score.I been going there moose hunting, bear hunting and fishing for 25 years and never come home unhappy, except the fact I have to return home. My son killed his first bear there as soon as he was old enough to hunt.We both scored this year and my bear was the smaller of the two at 315 lbs. We do not always kill 300 lb bear, however we have shot many over 300 lbs. Not bad for spring bear hunting in the east.
