RE: Entering Canada with a DUI on you record
1. Unless you have a pardon in hand, showing you're admissable to Canada.
2. If they don't ask you if you have a criminal record.
3.If you catch a border guard on a good morning.
Any of the above three will get you into Canada.
But I've had several people here tell me I was wrong. Most don't live in Canada, they've just had a lucky experience at the border. All it will take is one bad experience and you'll realize what we've been saying is true.
But what would I know ?? I just live here and I've been an outfitter in Canada for 40 years, strictly hunting and fishing. Like I said...What would I know?

Darkside,
I have a small ding on my record, travel across the border every year for the last 10 and went to the Canadian Consulate to get the pardon.(which I cannot get since it is not a conviction but a plea of no contest) You have to go to the Canadian Consulatein the US. Border services might be able to do it but the Canadian Consulateis easiest way in the US and the proper policy. That is all I am saying....A guard can deny you for anything if he is having a bad day hunting or not hunting...
I sat next to guy last year who was sent home for a DUI...Even with the pardoyou still have to answer questions with the immigration officer every year .......makes no differenceto me what people do....I go through it every year and will everytime I go to Canada......what do I know ...I go through every year that is what I know and I am never denied but see many get turned around clueless
Shoot straight..be safe !!!

What brilliant war on terrorism strategies by both America and Canada; hassle folks coming over from the other side of the border with a 10 year old spot on their record.
