JPF congrats on all fronts, baby & deer.

Early, I was wondering what ever came about from your trip...well done, you obviously saw alot of deer by the sounds of it (even with the warm conditions). He's not the biggest but he's definately a nice deer with the bow so congrats! I may have to try up near Edmonton, sounds like a smokin spot to be.

JD, you should really try to hunt the Edmonton Bow Zone. Maybe you can get Rocky to "host" you.;):DThe bucks in this 1600 square mile region are not to be believed. There is virtually no resident hunting pressure in this area and they only alot 70 non-resident tags, period!I settled for this little 9pt because he offered me a chip shot. I had missed (shot low) a 150" class bruiser earlier in the day.I really should have let him walk. I actually videoed him before shooting him. I saw 10 different buck and four doe by 1:15PM. Here is the before pic (a still from video) and the afterpic. Again, I should have let this little one walk. You can't shoot a big buck if you take a little one. I guess I got caught up in the moment.
Don't despair JD, we'll give it hell next season. I hope all is going OK with you and your family. I think of you and your little guy often. Have a Happy Holliday and a safe New Year.

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself man. It's a nice deer. I'm sure he isn't what you were after, but no shame. Sounds like you've put in your time and spent a good bit of cash hunting up that way over the years. Again...no shame. Go get the big one next year.

He's a real nice buck Brandon! But I have to ask, with three other bucksof that caliber at 30yrds or under, why didn't you shoot the 150" or 160"? Just curious. I'm sure there's a good reason.:D
