Nice finds sask. I have only found a few moose and elk sheds in my life as well. I wouldn't mind hooking up on some of those southern big boys lost horns around herebut getting access is next to impossible.

Hia they still have a draw season for moose though, the way it should be done just need to adjust the tag allotment based on the population. Of course that would actually take field research and proper management strategies to be put in place. aka time, feet and resources something SERM is always in need of and never getting[:@]!

As usual I am sucking hind end in the shedding this year a few small ones and thats it. The snow and weather hasn't helped me any. Hopefully it will remain warm here and I'll be able tohave something worth posting.

Tisk Tisk. Might as well use the stuff i mixed up at home, i won't be back to use it again. Have to see what the fishin scene is like in swan river. Yes there is a draw in the park for moose, not sure bout the farmland though. North of hwy23 there seems to be quite a few but to the south very few still. I hope they do not open it up in my area anytime soon, too many local and non local people that cannot see the larger picture of management.

Great pics ts. congrats. Yes we have wild turkey but again that will lead me to wrestling college chicks in the ditch after an inch of rain.

Hia, I can't recall if your in 49 or 48 like us?? In any regard draws for moose all around GWP - WMZ's 40, 42, 43, 48 and 49.

They use to nail them in 48 with huge pushing crews, just like you said they could care less about anything but putting as many moose on the ground as possible. Not at all what I consider moose hunting[&:].

Haha still cracks me up wrestling a chick in a muddy ditch, over a hat!!:D:D

Ya but the sad thing was i never remembered a thing. Never knew it even happened till the girls showed me pics of it in school the next week. Talk about feeling like a tool. Oh well i heard i won the fight anyways.

Ya i am in 48, 2.5 miles south of the boundary actually.

Hia, good to hear the moose pop'n is on the rebound in the park, the ticks must have left them alone for a few winters.

Tsheaf, nice looking critters. Congratulations.:D Alberta has a limited entry draw for Merriam's turkeys down south but I think it's a long wait for a tag.

Skeet, sorry to hear about the tough sheddin' Are you guys still up to your armpits in snow? As for SERM, I have never seen a bio or tech position advertised. You could probably count all the provincial bios on one hand. It's too bad that a province with the wildlife and fisheries resource that you have isn't managed to maximize the potential. Could you imagine what hunting there could be like if there was the same funding as Alberta (which still isn't a lot).

BTW, thanks for all the comments on the pictures. Just in case you not all sick of them yet here's a few more. I played hookie from work this afternoon and went out looking in the same area as I found the whitetail shed the other day. Apparently that b*st*rd buck didn't get the memo that sheds are usually within 300 yards of each other. It took all afternoon to find the bugger, but it was worth it. I was just about to head back when the dog stopped to sniff something on the trail ahead. Sure enough, she found it. It was 1.33Km from where he dropped the right side. Intrestingly enough, that was the only shed I found which leads me to believe that most are still packing both sides. I even saw two young bucks fighting over their spot at the bale on the drive home:D. Anyway, i'll head out again on the weekend. Here's the pics, the droptine on the left antler is just over 6inches and together the set grosses about 136 with a conservative 16 inch spread. Proof in my mind that score isn't everything.

Yeah the snow is tick.Know doubt deer will be impacted assome haven't seen this type of winter and as a result winter kill. I heard this evening of 2 yarded up groupsjust south off Hwy 11. I plan to slip out that way fora boo.The deer are coming into my mom and dads neighbourhoodto eat browse, they live in Briarwood.ThisafternoonDad said a doe and her 2 fawns were intheir and then walked rightdownthe driveway.

Been reading but not posting,will be out this weekend shedding with my new snowshows. pumped to try them out,plus I need the fresh air and excercise that goes with it. Been to busy cross country skiing trying to get my ankle back in shape from my fall.Still some sorness in it a bit, am able to do most things again. Sask I love the drop on the one you found I got one in my area withsort of thesame drop.Gotta love those non- typicalls.Hopefully I'll have some pics to post after the weekend.

Hia, i'm not sure what it is but i'm not complaining. I think i'll have to try and weed out the non-typ genetics again this fall:)

Skeet, sounds like you are having a similar winter to the Grande Prairie area. I imagine the bale yards near Spring Creek station would be a hot ticket this year. If you're still looking for places try the farmer about a mile north and 1/2 mile eastof where we met on the road that day. He was having problems already and it was only December. Good luck.
