Dan nice score on the gift. No problems the nut bars came for a visit soI had to dothe "you might be a redneck" thing!![8D] Hope you had safe ice dangling, serm and red cross issued thin/poor ice cautions for the northern and eastern portions due to the heavy snowfall.

To all hope your Christmas was good, safe and enjoyable. Plus santa was good. The wife bought me a new digi -Canon IS3, guess she was sick of me pouring over which one to get and complaining about my other camera. I've only played with a little but so far so good, hopefully will get out soon to do some horn looking and testing the camera in the field.

All the best in 2007.

Nice score on the camera Skeeter,

Xmas has been a lot of fun. Went to visit the wife's side down in Southern Sask for a few days. Weather was great and the days were spent sledding and eating (in excess). Santa was good to me this year. got some clothes, DVD's and last but not least a Garmin GPSMAP 60cx from my wife and parents. I can't wait to get home and start mapping trails and scouting/shedding for next year. :D

Happy new year.

P.s. Welcome Harold:)

Happy New Year !!:D

Back at work now[:'(]Holidays always fly by so quickly:eek:

Iwent out for a few hours yesterday to stomp the bursh for sheds, put some mileson the houndand try out the new gps. I think it will be a great tool, especially the track features. I didn't find anything, no real surprise but I always hold out hope for my first moose shed. However,I did gps all the trails I walked and once I get the software up an running I can project the trails onto satellite imagery (borrowed from work);)The result will hopefully be maps of all the trails and significant sign in any of the areas that i hunt. It's probably overkill but i'm walking the trails anyway so I might as well record it.

2007 Hunting resolutions:

1) Shoot a personnal best mule deer (assuming I get drawn).

2) Shoot my first bullmoose.

3) Spend at least 2 hours scouting for every hour hunting.

4) Get off my a** and get permissionwellbefore the season starts for once.

5) Shoot a personnal best whitetail (this one is on the list every year).

Hey Saskabush

Best of luck on all accounts bud,:Dall I can say is get that mulie stand in place and I'll make the drive up and shoot him early with my bow. That's thetop reason I bow hunt Saska. No need for putting in for a draw and waiting a few years for it to happen:eek:I love my GPS too, guess you can show me how to use it when I come up LMAO j/K.;)I use mine mainly for location for when I invite friends to hunt they can find the stand on their own with out 2 bodies stinking up the location.
Happy New Years to you all and best of luck in 07.
Rocky

Sask...WTF!! That's alot of resolutions for 1 year:eek:and after your 06 whitetail, I'd strike that one from the list:D.
Hope everyone had a good holiday, myself...looks like I got a touch of the flu and was in bed for a good chunk. No trip to Montana either as the roads sucked the day I was finally healthy. Ah well, just saved a bunch of $$$ that would have been better spent. All the best shedding boys!!
Still never saw early's pics:(

JD, you're right. Three of the five are more goals than resolutions,my bad[&:]The whitetail remains on the list. Half the fun of(trophy) hunting is trying to do better than last year. It may not happen, but that is okayas long as I give it an honest effort.
Sorry to hear about the trip, good luck finding some sheds if you make it out.

JD happy new year to bad about the down time.

Saskabush looks good to me, best of luck git er done!

My 2007 hunting rez's at this point:

1) Spend more time on building up the bow muscles

2) Hunt elk even deeper and harder then last year (streak stretched to 7:D)

3) Not gethawg tied-whitetails (use time more effectively)

4) Antelope draw tag

5) Be more like JD with the camera;)

6) Get a bear rug for the wife.A shoulder mount for moi hopefully will follow.

I don't need motivation to scout it's a given but I plan to spendmore time checking out new area both deer and elk.
