Front page of the Winnipeg Sun...a 250 lbblack bear attacked and killed a Manitoba man who was out picking plums.RCMP officers shot and killed the bruin when it came out of the bush while they were with the victim and family.
Our thought and prayers go out to the family today.
Just a reminder to people that these are dangerous animals and need to be respected a such.

When a black bear attacks it is usually trying to eat you. No duck and cover your head and play dead like with a griz. Fight for your life.

We had another incident around Lac du Bonnet just a little while ago and the man did exactly that. He started punching the black bear in the head with one hand while the bear had his other wrist. Turned out the mans was able to scare the bear away and lived to tell his story.
