I have seen all of the shows and really enjoy them. What I would like to see is info on the firearm he is using each hunt, make, model, caliber, bullets, optics that sort of thing. I watch it on sattelite and it is on about 5 times on Sunday.

hello CHRIS i watched ur show this morning [black bear hunt] and u blew me away ...MY CONGRADS !!!!the bow and rifle hunt's were 100% very hard to do better ...i am leaving the 16 sept. for a caribou hunt with EXPLO-SYLVA in CANIAPISCAU ..my fourth time ..p.s. the doc. on scope's was well done ,but my personel experience i would not go past 42 mm ..i find 50 mm to awkward for hunting ..i use a ELITE 4200 ,2.5-10 x 40mm ...

Wow...there are some really serious hunters here....not that this wasn't expected...just nice to be able to relate.

Terry....as far as the show suggestions...love them! Also....not surprisingly...Thomas has just finished taping a couple of the suggested shows. The caribou hunt in Quebec...he literally just got back from....and the bear hunt with a bow in Ontario...well that's where he is now! The others are great suggestions and you can be sure that I will pass these on.

The Firearms are Sako. The calibers, loads etc are something that will also be dealt with as our learning curve decreases. We have indeed felt the need to cover these topics. In fact, if you check out the Bass Pro Shops website at www.basspro.com and surf your way to the Vaughan store and the seminar topics that will be covered during their fall hunting classic (Sept 2-11th). Thomas will be talking on this very topic.

Hope to see you there!

Chris

OK I finally watched the show this weekend. I had to do some programming changes to my Satellite (star choice ) but I now get the show on Sunday evenings which is perfect. The episode I saw was the Bison hunt which didn't have a whole lot of appeal for me but from what I see I would say its the best hunting show I have seen yet on television. Obviously advertising is always a necessity but the ratio of ad vs content is great. I'm sorry I missed the other episodes as I'm sure they were good also. Good work.
Suggestions for content:
Snow goose hunting in Quebec ( Cap Tourmente, Isle aux Grues )
A weekly or bi weekly archery/bow hunting clinic that get into things like bow tuning, proper arrow selection etc. You could also feature a new product and test it for us. For example I will be buying a Summit Goliath self climbing stand this fall, it would be nice to see it set up and hunt from. Or test a bow like the APA line which are Canadian made in Saskatchewan and comparable to the big names. There are also tons of new flashlights on the market now and we all carry one of some type, it would be great to see some tested. Pop up blinds are getting more and more popular for both big game and turkey hunting, a segment on them would nice. Geez I can think of all kinds of things maybe you need to hire me as a consultant .

Some really great ideas Terry!

Perhaps you should be on staff.....but then I might lose my job!

Believe it or not...the Goose hunt that you are talking about in Quebec...has been done, produced and aired on television already!

Check out the web site www.canadaintherough.com for episode listings. Each episode will soon be available on DVD. $7.99 an episode. Hard to beat the price!

Looks like things really got active and I’ve only been gone for a week. Chris, I’m happy to see that you came aboard. I find the show to be an excellent show. Looks like Terry is coming up with some good ideas for hunts. Keep up the good work. I’m looking forward to some more episodes.

Nahhh you won't lose your job, but you can send me the episodes I missed no charge and I'll be glad to keep coming up with neat stuff . Hell I'll mail em back to ya after watching them. Or are you going to be airing reruns at some point ? If you are going to be at the Sept promo at Basspro in Vaughn it would be nice to meet you and talk hunting. Keep up the good work.

Chris, I have followed the last 4-5 shows and this is what my thoughts are. Now as most know , I live in the woods and if I'm not there I'm at shows promoting the sport.

Canadian In the Rough is doing a great job , but a couple of things that need to be addressed is After a hunt , most viewers would like to know What kind of Gun, Caliber, and equipment was used in the hunt. Talking a little more on some knowledge that may help out the veiwers down the road. Another thing is having some other hunters join in with Tom and get different perspectives from different hunters.

I'm not knocking the show by know means only exspressing what comes to my mind when I watch the show and I hunt as much as Thomas does. I think this would give the show a jump out to have hunters tune in.
