For a Red dot???? My Tasco works just fine and only cost me $40.

You can't really compare it to a Tasco. But if you're comparing apples to apples, it's in line with what you'd spend on an EOTech or Aimpoint. Also, as far as I know, it's the only one that fits on any shotgun without the need for a rail.
