Default Nikon difference

Can anyone say, is there a difference in the "AR" 3x9x40 BDC scope and the non "AR" 3x9x40 BDC scope other than the price? Looking at putting a scope on my Stag Model 3 AR and looking at the Nikons. I have 3 Nikon Pro Staffs on my slug guns and like the quality of Nikon.

Isn't the BDC on the AR set up for a .223 rem?

Yes they have a 40mm in the AR model and one in the Buckmasters line. The AR line has adjustable turrets and you have to remove the caps on the Buckmaster line. That and maybe the AR is 223 specific. I guess I better look a little closer. Thanks everyone
