Default Shotgun Scope?

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced shotgun scope for deer hunting?

One of the few time that I would recommend a fixed power scope.

Both for lack of range and the ability to handle recoil.

Any "good" 3X - 9X would always be a good choice too...........................

"Red Dots" are becoming more and more popular - I guess ?!?!

Buy it once !!!

There is no need to get caught up in the hype of the "SHOTGUN ONLY" scope. Today's shotguns and ammo have the shotgun shooting further then ever. The scope makers have these special scopes to bulk up there models, then charge more for them cause they are for shotguns only.

For the last 20 plus years I've had riflescopes on my shotguns, without issues.

What shotgun, gauge are you wanting this shotgun for?

Today's riflescopes are made very well, it depends on your budget.

I have many shotguns with scopes, they all wear 3-9x40 scopes, they all have the Leupold VX-II (now known as the VX-2) but one has a Bushnell Trophy XLT

I was in a tight spot for money and time when i bought a cheap Wal Mart scope for my shotgun. For $70, I've been pleasantly sirprised with how well it's worked over the last two seasons. And it's survived some pretty harsh conditions and a pretty nasty fall down a ravine.
