Night Vision x Flashlight

Hi all,

I'm new on this, and I'm really want to know the Pro/Cons of getting a Night vision over a strong flashlight for night hunting. It is easier to see the animal in NV than on regular flashlights?

The first thing you want to know is, are night vision instruments legal in your state? They are not legal in mine.
