Nikon or Bushnell???
I personally have grown up using both Nikon and Bushnell and always at least 6x magnifier. But recently i have been thinking about buying an upper end binocular ($1,000-$3,000) and im not sure which brand i should spend the big dollar on.. Scopes are mostly subjective
My idea is get a scope to match your eyeball and how blind you are.
I always eyeballed a scope. Preferably in a big box store with pretty good distance and dark shadows to check out a scope. And I start with the less expensive ones.
You pay for what you get. But some things are unnecessary unless you need a scope for an 800 yard shot or the shadows are so contrasting from the brightness, you need a better scope.
Good eyes I find can go with less money. And I spent a lot less. I once went for a inexpensive rimfire scope for a .22 that worked out beautifully.
So when short of money for a lever action, I opted for a better inexpensive scope from the same company. Nearly some 15-20 years later, the company makes the same name scope. Under $100. In fact the mail order company, now an internet company, still sells it.
I couldn't give away the scope now; couldn't give it away nearly 15 - 20 years ago. It works fine. Even I won't give it away. I test my aging eyeballs on it nearly annually.

If you are set on spending that kind of money run fast and furiously away from both and look at Steiner, Swarovski, Zeiss, or Luepold.
If you want good glass (bino's) with bright objectives and want to save money Check out Vortex. I was able to buy a pair of Vortex Diamond Backs and save enough money to buy the wife another gun and go hunting.
