Recommendations on a scope

I just bought a Browning x-bolt hunter 30-06. The main scopes I am looking at are Leupold Rifleman, Leapold VX-II, Nikon Buckmaster, Nikon Prostaff w/ BDC.

Who are yalls opinions on these?

If you would recommend something else feel free too. My budget is max 250$

Thanks

I bought an x-bolt last year and love it. I put a Nikon Pro-staff 3-9-50 on it and am extremely impressed. I have shot leupolds over the years, but for the money, the 100% lifetime warranty, and the 98% percent light transmission Pro Staff boasts, I don't think you can beat it. Had a small 6 point deer come in about 30 yards last year before legal shooting hours and I could barely see the rack with bare eyes, and wanted to check out how good the scope was. I put scope on him and was amazed at the amount of light let in by this scope, and the clarity could see the rack perfectly. Be sure if you get a 50 mm scope for your gun to order the High height x lock bases. Browning says the standard will fit a 50 mm and when I got mine in they did not and had to rush to find new bases before season.

Of those you listed, I'd go with the VX2. Second choice would be the Buckmaster!

What is the difference between the prostaff and the buckmaster?

I gave the new redfield revolution a chance and bought one 3-9x40 Plex and I am very impressed. i paid back approx. 5 mo. ago at Dicks 159.00. Same warrenty as Leupold. Very nice scope and i hear the accu-range is real nice as well.

Buckmaster is a higher end scope and the prostaff is the bottom line. Buckmaster is a much better scope. Buckmaster 265.00 , Prostaff 145.00 for comparision.

Does anyone have any experience with the monarch?

Monarch is the top of the line and much better glass, eye relief, and priced usually in the 350.00 and much higher range. i would compare the monarch w/ a leupold 3. The prostaff is a good scope but i like more eye relief than, 3.6. The monarch would be 4.2" , redfield 4.2", Leupold, even a low level rifleman will bring 4's ". I think you go Redfield revolution and you will see nothing but clarity w/ constant full view eye relief. Excellent warranty. Burris is another brand Fullfield 2 model. cant go wrong there either and all for under 300.00.

Thanks man that's a big help. What about the leupold riflemen?

good scope, bottom level of the leupold line and about 200.00. I would own that before the prostaff.
