Default Redfield revolution 3-9x50mm accu range??

Hi I was just browsing and found this sight cheap I've been told that redfield is made by leupold now.. So I figured I'd look into this scope I heard it is a cross between the vx-II and vx-I for quality and its just as durable as their vx-III. Please let me know what you think of this scope it would be going on my brand new browning xbolt stainless stalker in 300wsm.

Redfield is indeed assembled by Leupold. I believe the glass / components are Pacific Rim in origin. It is said to be pretty good...a representative value entry level scope. I have not personally viewed one.

Here are a few for you to check out: 1). Bushnell Elite 2). Vortex Viper HS 3). Sightron Big Sky 4). Minox ZA5 5). Meopta Meopro. I'd suggest visiting the SWFA website @

A Leupold VX-2 3x9 runs about $300, a VX-3 2.5x8 runs about $400, and a 3.5x10 runs about $480. It is hard to buy a bad scope in the $300 - $500 range these days.

Be aware that many websites that you might visit will be pushing their own re-branded imports. Some of these imports are good scopes (some are very good scopes) but the seller is not the manufacturer and it is possible to end up with an "orphan" if the seller closes it's doors.

I'm looking at the same scope for my son's 7mm08. Are the rings that come with this scope good?

I believe that these are aluminum, and fit on a rail. They may be worth the extra $10 that SWFA charges. You might save a few bucks (and free shipping) by looking at Optics Planet, etc.

Check out wholesale sports. They are a big chain dealer in the west. Or check out LeBaron. These are Canadian stores that will ship.

I've had a Revolution, and while it was decent the Burris FFII is a much better scope all the way around for a similar price.
