Hands down the 4200 Elite. In fact for a mid price range scope, it would be my choice over the VX3 and a lot of other brands.

I have a Leupold on my favorite hunting rifle, and I love it. I think it might be a VXI, but I'm not sure.

Of course, I have low standards because I used a Simmons for many years.

Well they are all right around $200, Cabela's has the 4200 on sale for $199. The Bushnell has almost a full inch less of eye relief than the Leupold. I'm a big archery guy though so I don't know much about optics for rifles obviously but I always thought Bushnell was kind of the cheaper, lower quality brand of the three I listed. But it seems that most of you would recommend that way so that sounds good to me! Thank you all!

So did I.

With a .30-06, eye relief is a concern.

I always thought of Bushnell as cheaper lower end too, and they have a lot of lower end stuff, but their Elite series are their higher end scopes.
