Default Winchester 375H&H now need help on a scope

Hey everyone, I finally was able to find my dream gun, a Winchester 375H&H sts/syn. Now I'm not sure what scope to put on it though. I was looking at the Redfield 3-9x50 but I don't know if it will handle the recoil from the 375. Is there any better for the price?

I have two .375 rifles, and each of them has a Leupold 2.5x8. I have had the .375 H&H for years with this scope and have been on some rough hunts with it. I picked up a .375 Ruger when they came out and have been on some really long walks with it too. The scope power range seems about right for a .375, and I am very happy with these scopes.
I would not suggest a 50 mm objective for a .375 scope. A fairly light scope goes better with a rifle that has this much recoil in an 8 pound rifle.

+1. Something with the high end at 7 or 8X, lightweight and with good ER (like around 4 inches min.). I'd also mount it up in QD's (assuming there are iron sites on that rifle). Check the Vortex Viper line... great buys now and a 2-7 would be the bugs nuts. Good luck.

Nice rifle.
I have casually looked around for the same rifle that you just bought. It is hard to find one in really good condition unless you live in Alaska (where they seem to be fairly common). If you ever tire of it (or the recoil) and want to sell it, PM me.

Thank you for the ideas. I found a leupold 2-7 vx-II for 200. It should look great on there. Now just need a hunting spot around here and I'll be set...lol

Leupold makes/or used to make, a 1.75x6-power scope. I had one on my old 375-Remington Ultra Mag. I liked that scope for that rifle.

Rocking a 3x12x56 Zeiss on my Sako 375 H&H. it's worked for me on deer and hogs. The front focal plane #8 reticle works great in low light situations. Am running 1.5x6x42 Swaro's on my 416's though.

I had a 375 H&H just like the one you bought. You will need to purchase a premium scope like the Leupold, zeiss etc. The power will be your choice but I used a silver leupold 2.5x8 vari-lll and it worked great. I still have the scope and rings and would consider a trade on ??? or sell it tyd for $400. If you are interested e-mail [email protected]. Jim
