I do not own any Steiners. One of my best buds does. Has had them for about 6 years. He hunts and fishes a bunch, so I know they have been in the field a lot and in some pretty harsh conditions, including salt water spray. I am not certain of the model. They are 8x - 40 mm. He seems well satisfied with them.

They're OK. I got tired of having my eyeballs sucked out of my head. An hour of glassing (a must in the west) made me feel like I'd stared into a tube for a day. I ultimately went to Swarovski 10x50s and love them. Cabelas had 8x40 Zeiss for a great price for awhile. If you're still looking, check out SCI, they have an advertiser in their Safari Times publication (sorry I don't remember the name, but they would have a list of advertisers) that sells used, new and reconditioned high end optics. There's some pretty good deals and the better the optics the happier you will be, "I guarantee it."
