Default Has anyone actually tried a ncstar scope?

I know that they are cheap scopes and that the optical quality is poor in comparison to other scopes. I'm not able to work due to an injury to my back so buying a higher end scope is out of the question, and even low end scopes are better than using iron sights. The only person that I've known to use one is my brother in law and he claims that the optical quality is equal to most low end scopes in the $100 range. The thing that impresses him the most is the scopes ability to hold zero. I know that he beats the heck out of his equipment and for him to claim it holds zero is saying something. Is this normal for these scopes or did he just get lucky and get a good one? How do they compare to any of the blister pack scopes at Walmart?

Just about as good as a BSA, I wouldn't waste my money.
