The Black Diamond is a notch above the FFII...IMO The new Nikon Monarchs are very nice and the new Leupy VX3 is better than the old VXIII. Whatever lifts your skirt.

I believe the next scope I'm going to buy will be the Nikon Monarch. My second choice would probably be the Leupold. Good luck.

Greg.

About any scope in the $$$ range you are mentioning will work. Let me put my $.02 in for the Elite series. And frankly I had to be convinced. I kept one on a Savage 10 ML I bought. I had intended to change it out to a Conquest (which I still am convinced is a better scope), but time caught me. So I headed to the range, sighted in and went to the woods. This scope, which is a 4200 series did great. Took me to very late in the afternoon. Plenty clear and crisp. It is a bit long and heavy, which are the only drawbacks I have found. I left it on the rifle. I'll get back to you in 5-10 years with a comment on how it holds up ... if I live that long !!!

I really like my Fullfield II but I've never used the Black Diamond so I can't comment on how they compare. I'd think it would be a great scope from what I've read about it though.
