last 3 within 30yds? that's how it goes right? when bow hunting you see them at 200yds with a gun its 30yds....bring a bow next time Luckydog! haha.

LOL. I just started bow hunting again last year. I didn't have one come within a country mile. I plan on changing that this year. My goal this year is to take an elk with my bow, and or my slug gun or 44mag. I'm gonna trim down my waterfowl hunting this year and concentrate on big game a lot more. Wish me luck I'm gonna need it. I'd rather be lucky than good any day of the week!!

I'm starting to think luck has something to do with it....I think you can only do so many things right, after that you need some luck. I was certain my dad and I both were going to get an elk last fall, neither of us did.

Big game with a bow is what I'm pursuing more than anything. I'd like to hunt africa with a rifle down the road though.

Personally I would put a 4.5x14 Leupold on it. The PH is there with open sights to protect you from dangerous game. 4.5 is low enough power for quick shots. If you want to get serious about quick shots why not get a mid eye relief scope and mount it like you would on a guide gun like the Styer Scout rifle
