YEP - I have a 4 x 12 x 40 on one of my .270 Winchester - Remington Gamemaster Rifles and it works great.

Provided you buy one of the Simmons scopes made after Meade bought them and redesigned their scopes, you may decide to stay with the Simmons.

The new Atecs are good.

I have had 2 simmons. One on an inline muzzle loader, and the other on a Varmint gun. The optics on both scopes seemed of very low quality.

I personally wouldn't put a Simmons scope on any of my rifles. Their reputation for quality and reliability is poor at best. Save your money for a Nikon ProStaff or Buckmaster, Burris Fullfield II, or Bushnell Elite 3200. I've bought all of these scopes for less than $200.00 (in some cases much less) on Ebay with complete satisfaction.

Simmons is ranked above Tasco, which is ranked above BSA.

At minimum, I would go with a Bushnell scope. Their quality is a little better for the money.

I agree with Butch, in the same price range I would pick a bushnell over a simmons. What kind of money are you talking about with what sort of features? If we knew what you were wanting and in what price range we might be able to suggest something.
