Default Best shotgun optics...

What would you favor for a 12gauge H&R Ultra Slugger?

What scope, red dot, or other?

Thanks!

I have a Leupold 1-4 shotgun scope on my H&R and love it.

I have a Nikon 2-7 x32 on my 11-87 and love it. Nikon just came out with another scope just for Shotguns, its called the Slugger. It has the BDC reticle for 12 guages or 20 guages, just like the Omega for muzzleloaders. I havn't heard any reviews on it yet and I don't know what kind of slug or load the scope is set up for.

For the money, I also highly recommend the Nikon Prostaff 2x-7x 32mm shotgun scope priced at $129.00. I have been very pleased with mine.

CrowMag, what will you be using the shotgun/scope combination for? I use my 12 gauge H & R Ultra Slughunter for whitetails out to 150 yards or so, so I prefera little more magnification than what one might normally think. I love my Leupold VXIII 2.5 x 8. But this is not really necessary if your shots are long at 100 yards.

Thanks all!

Follower - I would say 99% of shots will be 75 yards or less.
