Default Scope Questions

I just picked up a remington 700 .270 wsm. What would be the best scope to buy for less than 200.00. Mostly used for deer hunting in South andWestTexas. Plus varments as well.

Does anyone have anything good to say about the Tru Glo Scope? Or what do you recommend?

If you can find a sale on the 3x9 VX-1 or discontinued Vari-X II Leupold, you might can get one for under $200. They are just a little over that regularly but well worth the extra. I've just not been able to find any of the lower priced scopes that are clear at dawn and dusk. Middle of the day, they're fine if that's the only timeyou'll be hunting.

Search the forum with "$200" and "scope". You'll get tons of opinions, most of them well-reasoned.

For under $200 it's hard to beat the Burris Fullfield II.

easy question. The best bang for the buck is the discontinued old version Nikon Monarch in 3x9x40. You can find them here http://www.natchezss.com/category.cfm?contentID=productDetail&brand=NK& amp;category=405&subCategory=405&catLevel= 2&prodID=NK6525

I agree with the Burris FF2, but also think that a Bushnell Elite 3200 3x9 would be a good choice as well. A nikon prostaff would be worth considering as well.

Burris FullField II 3-9x40would be my first options, but its over $200 by around $30 bucks which is bad considering the brand and glass. Next options would be Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40with BDC reticle or Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 without BDCwhich would be under $200 but, its glass or performance isn't near BFFII. Just anothermy opinion.

Another vote for the Nikon Monarch 3x9x40. A bargain for the money.
